When I called the telephone number for the company looking for CAD Consulting, I had no idea that I would be asked to join the very famous & successful motorcycle icon Dan Hanebrink! An added bonus is that his home based machine shop is just 10 minutes away from our Big Bear Lake vacation home.
Back in 1973 Mr. Hanebrink built by hand, and raced this outrageous road racer you see below.
The chassis is a
Monocoque magnesium structure with a 3 cylinder 2 stroke Kholer snowmobile engine with 700cc displacement. Also hand built and designed by Dan is the CVT transmission that transmits power to the the rear 16" diameter rear wheel. The front wheel is 16" too.
I will be using Fusion 360 for this project.
I've already spent one day with Mr. Hanebrink and I was blown away by his intelligence and machining skills.
So he'll be building 5-8 copies of the Hustler X5 Junior Road Race bike shown at the top and I get to help, cool.
